FORT WORTH, TX – The Whataburger Tournament announced today its 48-team field for the 64th Annual Whataburger Tournament, the premier Texas high school basketball holiday tournament. This year’s tournament takes place from Tuesday, December 28th through Thursday, December 30th.

The Orange Division will play at Mansfield Legacy High School, the Blue Boys Division will play at Chisholm Trail High School, and the Blue Girls Division will play at Saginaw High School.

“We are very excited about this year’s group of teams, as we have a great mix of new teams into our field along with some very recognizable, returning teams,” said Tom Rogers, Whataburger Tournament Director. “We greatly appreciate the support from our fans and the continued support from our sponsors Whataburger, Dr. Pepper, Radisson and the City of Mansfield.”

Each division features the returning champion from 2019 with Duncanville winning the Orange Division, Decatur winning the Blue Boys Division, and Argyle Liberty Christian winning the Blue Girls Division.

The tournament has provided a national spotlight for players that have gone on to professional careers as players and coaches with the NBA, including former Flower Mound Marcus great and current Boston Celtic Marcus Smart; Rashard Lewis, an alumnus of Elsik High School near Houston who was a two-time NBA All-Star. Other tournament veterans include Sam Cassel, who won back-to-back NBA titles with the Houston Rockets and currently serves as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers, and many others.
